Visiting through direct URL’s leads to more site earnings
A study that was conducted by Engine Ready, an Internet Marketing Ready, claims that neither SEO nor PPC helps in bringing in more revenues on Internet marketing site. As quoted by the New York Times, Engine Ready evaluated 18.7 million visits in a period of two years on web sites that are run by 27 of the 500 clients of the company.
The study compared data on how customers reacts to paid listings as well as organic search results. Paid listings claim to have around 17% more flourishing transactions on the site than those who visit the site directed by organic search results. Also, these visitors visiting the site are seen to spend around 18% more on each order.
However, the most effective site visit was not brought by any of them. Instead, it was from those visitors who visited the site by directly typing the URL of the site as well from those who visited via from bookmarks. These are the visitors who have a tendency to revisit the site and even spend the longest time and money. These visits are roughly valued at $5.69 apiece. However, it is still difficult to determine whether SEO or PPC is really not giving proper returns on their investment.
